Thus, before you make a decision between buying a semi-automatic or fully automatic paintball gun, you should consider certain things.

A number of paintballers believe that one who is capable of shooting paint faster is not an impressive player; rather one who is able to hit the people with less paint is the more impressive player. More often than not, fully automatic paintball guns also have other firing modes like 3-shot burst. Besides these, the player can also adjust the rate of fire in most of the guns, which have electronic trigger frames. For example, the player has an option to set the speed of shooting paintballs at a rate of 16 bps, and it will be shot out at the same speed whenever you hit the trigger. However, you will have to see because not all the guns with electronic triggers have this function.

As far as semi-automatic paintball guns are concerned, they can also have impressive rates of fire. Moreover, even some semi automatic paintball guns are capable of shooting paint faster compared to cheaper fully automatic paintball guns. It is due to the fact that if a gun is capable of shooting a number of paintballs in just one pull of the trigger, it will not necessarily be shooting as fast.

Fully automatic paintball guns cost relatively more than semi-automatic paintball guns. You will also require having an electronic hopper so that its potential is fully utilized. Since, the rate of fire gets affected; you will also have to purchase an accessory to make CO2 work properly.

In the last, before you opt for fully automatic paintball guns, keep in mind that number of paintball fields does not allow the use of these guns in their tournaments. Anyhow, if you have one, make sure that it has a tournament lock, so that it can be used on other settings and you are not prohibited from playing on the field.
