Woodsball or Speedball? (another poll)
I keep hearing from people that woodsball/recball is the more popular paintball game play over speedball, but I never see any evidence in my area. Everyone I know is a speedball fanatic. Here's another public poll to see what players like yourself prefer: Woodsball or speedball. I encourage you to cast your own vote as well.
What exactly gears you to one game play over the other? And why aren't there any other types of game play present in the sport? Feel free to comment.

Started in the woods years back, moved into speedball for 4 or 5 years. Now moving back to my roots with another woodsball tourney team. Trees all the way.

I don’t think speedball will ever beat woodsball in a poll. Not that speedball isn’t great, heck its the most recognized part of the sport for tournaments and such. But the average newbie player when he/she thinks of paintball, thinks of a woodsball/scenarioball game. Most people, especially the youngins, are introduced to the sport through a woodsball game.

I love both. I don’t see why anyone has to choose one or the other.

I’ve played both and the rush of speedball just isn’t the same as woodsball. besides, in woodsball you can climb trees in your ghille suit and pick people off like i do :] if anyone wants to play some 1 on 1 or even a big team battle or something hit me up.

Speedball will never appeal to me. I honestly don’t see the fun in bright shiny guns firing 1000 balls a second and neon clothes with logos all over them. I prefer scenario stuff. It’s tactical and more strategic…not just shoot em up. If you were a hunter would you rather stand over an open field with hundreds of turkey or whatever and a submachine gun, or actually hunt your prey for that heart thumping one shot do or die kill? That’s where the moments and the stories come from. I rest my case.

I agree with bird man, why choose between two good things? I prefer to play in the woods but if I can’t do that then i go play speedball. They are both the same sport, one just uses more paint.

I personally like woodsball just because your out in the forest and its more strategical. And the guns are cooler. I’ve been thinking about getting my own gun (I have been renting) and I want to get a woodsball gun but all of my Paintball friends are speedball fans and I still want to play paintball with them so can someone tell me whether or not I am allowed to use woodsball guns in speedball?
I would REALLY appreciate it if you could email me here about it: alexjustdoit@gmail.com
Thanks.
(I’m voting for woodsball!)

Cpt. Harvey 501st ASPB (Assault Sniper Paintball Battalion):
Both Woodsball and Speedball have their good and bad points to them but when it comes down to what takes more skill it’s all about woodsball I have debated with dozens of people on which requires more skill and when eventually woodsball wins everytime due to the small fact that you need to watch your shots and be able to hunt a target instead of putting 25-30 BPS on a target woobs ball is all about the single perfect shot it takes to get between the trees to hit the target thats something you never have in speedball all you do in speedball is fire 150 rounds at someone and pray you hit someone
Woodsball all the way

I can only speak for little expiernce i have and what ive seen and read, Speedball seems…..over-the-top personally, i cant afford a $1000 gun and $100+ in paint every time i play. But i do see where it gives you an addreniline rush. woodsball is more my thing becuz i like being in the woods also you can meet some new people that way. Woodsball is a lot more relaxed, and not to judge anyone, but the players at my local woodsball feild seem a lot more friendly and excepting of a renta-gun totting amatuer, im just there to have fun and they seem excepting. so i go woodsball. Btw im looking for a gun, i want it to be well balanced by if it has to go one way then woodsball type, i dont have a whole lot of cash either witch limits the possibilities, plz gimme an email with your advice thanks a lot, eac12-11@hotmail.com

Speedball will eventually come out on top. Yes both take skill… and it is true you use more paint, but a woodsball player eill never beat a speedball player in the woods. true speedballers shoot with both hands(equally well) and wrap their bunkers to perfection even if they both use tippy’s the speedballer has the advantage.
